About Me

Namaste! My name is Ved Upadhyay, a freelance portrait photographer based in New Delhi, India.

I picked up photography fairly late considering how many teenagers are killing it on Insta and other social platforms these days.  I felt something creative has always been my calling. I just seemed to have noticed and been able to nurture it only recently.  I have been inclined to drawing since early stages of my school years.  After graduation the need ‘to make a living’ killed whatever was burning inside me.    Photography rekindled that fire and has given me a purpose again.  Even though I’m an introvert I love making portraits of people.  I love interacting with them.  It’s great to see them amazed by the end results and the responses they get on their pictures even though they never felt they had a “photo face”.  That’s my award.

This site is also an attempt to log  my journey as a photographer and lessons learnt about myself, from people close to me and the ones I photograph.  I also share some of the doodles I create every now and then and share them on my Instagram account @vedupadhyay.

You could be an aspiring model, actor or athlete looking to create strong images for your social media campaign or portfolio.  I can help you bring your best picture into reality which will set you apart from your competitors in the market.
