50 Portraits – Portrait# 33

Portrait

Some bonds are meant to last forever.  Some actually do.

As I try to grow as a photographer I’m realising how important it has become for me when I’m making a portrait that the viewer should be able to connect with the image instantly.  It should invoke curiosity.  When the viewer has stopped and tilted their head and said ‘huh?’…I got their two seconds that I needed.  The bond is created.  It’s not guaranteed that it will each time but the intention is to make something that will.   Each viewer will have their own version of curiosity.  I’m not looking to answer that curiosity but rather I want to light the fire and step away to the next one.  Some fire generate a good chunk of heat some not so much.
